Monday afternoon Heartland Regional Medical Center is sponsoring a free screening for people with suspicious lumps or moles. Dr. Kevin Claffey is a General Surgeon at Heartland and says sometimes the early signs of problems are not very obvious.
"Especially moles can be very subtle. If they have some concerning characteristics it's often very easy, a small procedure to excise a small skin lesion, but sometimes it can offer huge benefits."
Dr.Claffey says with COVID-19, people have put off routine screenings. Monday's Lumps and Bumps Screening event runs from 4PM to 6PM and will take place at the Hub Recreation Center on West Main in Marion.
