Three southern Illinois projects will receive Governor's Hometown Awards next week.
In southern Illinois, awards are going to the Village of Royalton's "Royalton Community Garden" as a project winner. Honorable mentions go to the City of Harrisburg's "Free Summer Lunch Program" and the City of Marion's "Girl Scout Silver Award Carnival for Lighthouse Shelter."
The program gives formal recognition to projects that contributed to their community's quality of life.
Representatives from Royalton, Harrisburg and Marion are invited to the awards ceremony on November 15th at the Governor's Mansion in Springfield.
