Governor Bruce Rauner vetoed legislation Friday that would have re-opened the Hardin County Work Camp.

Lawmakers approved a measure at the end of the spring session that would require the Illinois Department of Corrections to operate the facility.
Last August, the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability held a hearing to discuss the economic impact of closing several state facilities. The panel voted in favor of keeping the Hardin County Work Camp open.
