Illinois continues to try to expand testing capacity across the state.
During the daily briefing on Friday, Governor J-B Pritzker said that includes rural areas.
"Carbondale and Edwardsville we monitor very closely and the health centers and critical access hospitals in other communities in downstate Illinois are receiving funding, they are receiving testing, they have swabs, many of them have the ability to send the testing to our state labs. We have a state lab that's in Carbondale."
Pritzker said this allows the state to collect samples and test for COVID-19 in relatively short order.
