Gov. Pritzker Recommends Illinoisans to Try to File for Unemployement Online in Off-Peak Hours

Illinoisans are still reporting problems trying to access unemployment applications on the Illinois Department of Employment Security website.

Governor J-B Pritzker addressed the issue earlier this week saying improvements are being made after the old system that was not capable of handling the huge volume of applications during the COVID-19 crisis.
Since the site is available 24/7...Pritzker says he would ask people try to get on the site when the traffic might be lower.

"You can go online anytime of day or night, so I would suggest to people that perhaps finding off-hours to go online to make that filing will be much easier for you and much easier for the system."

Pritzker is asking Illinoisans to remain patient with the system.
