GOP Candidates to Meet Tonight in Statewide Public Broadcasting Debate

WSIU Public Broadcasting, in partnership with WILL/Illinois Public Media, WUIS Public Radio Springfield, and the League of Women Voters of Illinois, will host Illinois Gubernatorial Primary GOP Candidates 2014, a live debate between Republican candidates for Governor of Illinois.

The debate will be broadcast live on WSIU Radio and WSIU TV tonight at 7:00 pm from WTVP Peoria.  The 90-minute debate will be followed by 30-minutes of analysis.   Republican challengers participating in the debate include State Senator Bill Brady of Bloomington, State Senator Kirk Dillard of Hinsdale, Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford of Chenoa, and businessman Bruce Rauner of Winnetka.

WTVP’s H. Wayne Wilson will serve as moderator. Panelists are Jak Tichenor of WSIU-TV, Amanda Vinicky of Illinois Public Radio, Jim Meadows of WILL/Illinois Public Media, and Chacour Koop, a student from the Public Affairs Reporting Program at the University of Illinois Springfield and an intern for the Associated Press.
