Fatal Crash in Williamson County

A Johnson County couple was killed in a head-on crash in Williamson County Wednesday morning.

Police say 54 year old Casey Odum of Creal Springs, was driving Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck north on Route 166 and a Toyota sedan was going south. 

The truck crossed the centerline and hit the car head-on.

The driver and passenger of the car, 79 year old Orson Kramer,and his wife, 81 year old Judith Kramer, of Ozark were killed in the crash.

Odum was flown to a regional hospital with severe injuries.

Police say the driver of the truck was cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

Two people are dead following a crash in Williamson County.

Illinois State Police say the names of those killed are being withheld pending family notification.

Troopers say the crash occurred around 11:20 Wednesday morning on Route 166, about a half-mile south of Creal Springs.

The preliminary investigation indicates a pick-up was traveling north on Route 166 and a sedan was traveling south. The pick-up -- driven by 54-year-old Casey Odum of Creal Springs -- crossed the centerline and hit the other vehicle head-on. The driver of the sedan and a passenger in Odum's truck died. Odum suffered severe injuries.

The crash closed part of Route 166 for three-and-a-half hours on Wednesday.
