Fatal Crash on Route 154 in Perry County

A Randolph County man is dead and three other southern Illinois residents were hurt in a three-vehicle accident in Perry County.

The Perry County Sheriff's office says the accident occurred around 6:30 Thursday morning on State Route 154.
Deputies say 30-year-old Anthony Hagene of Steeleville was pronounced dead at the scene.

36-year-old Jamie Perry of Pinckneyville, and a female juvenile passenger with her, were both airlifted to St. Louis hospitals.

The driver of the third vehicle, 40-year-old Edgar Pursell of DuQuoin, was taken to Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

The Illinois State Police continues to investigate and reconstruct the accident to determine its cause.

Route 154 was closed for about four-and-a-half hours Thursday to clear the accident scene.
