A recent poll conducted by the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency on how many people have a working NOAA All-Hazards Radio yielded a response of 50/50.
The agency says it thinks Santa needs to bring a few people some peace of mind this year by giving the gift of a NOAA radio for the Holidays.
Illinois Emergency Management Agency spokesperson Rebecca Clark says a NOAA weather radio, home disaster preparedness kit and even a good flashlight make great presents for hard-to-buy-for family members.
Clark says another gift idea is to fill a rubber tub or backpack with emergency items for the car including jumper cables, a flashlight, first aid kit, blankets, an ice scraper and more.
