A magnitude 4.0 earthquake shook parts of southeast Missouri Tuesday morning.
The quake was centered about five miles from East Prairie (MO)... 9 miles from Sikeston (MO) and 16 miles from Cairo, Illinois... close to where Interstates 55 and 57 converge.
The ground shook just before 4:00am local time. The US Geological Survey says residents in Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee and Kentucky have reported feeling the quake. There are no reports of significant damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a 2.4 magnitude quake followed near the same epicenter at around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
