The Jackson County Health Department and the Sheriff's Office are holding a drug take-back and confidential document shredding event.
The point of the event is to provide safe and secure disposal of the items. Prescription drug abuse is very high in the U.S. and studies show a majority of that abuse comes from drugs obtained by friends and family.
Proper disposal reduces environmental and health hazard risks.
The event is at the Jackson County Health Department in Murphysboro on Saturday, October 27th from 8am until noon.
