A Jackson County woman is headed to prison after admitting to her involvement in the death of her husband.

The Jackson County State's Attorney says 55-year-old Carmen Stonemark of DeSoto pleaded guilty to Solicitation to Commit Murder and Concealment of a Homicidal Death. She was sentenced to 20 years...17 for Solicitation to Commit Murder and three for Concealment of a Homicidal Death.
She was ordered to begin serving her sentence immediately.

Stonemark solicited her lover, James Deese, to kill her husband Frank Stonemark and then assisted him in disposing of his body by hiding it in a remote area of Jackson County and then dismembering the body with a chain saw and burning the remains. In an effort to conceal the crime, she falsely reported to police that she had been in an argument with her husband and he got mad and left home.
