Daily Update: 1,111 New COVID-19 Cases (May 27)

Illinois added 1,111 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, and recorded another 160 new deaths attributed to the disease.

The total COVID-19 infection number now stands at 114,306 - with more than 800,000 tests administered. The death toll is now 5,083.

Governor JB Pritzker says the state is still on track to enter Phase 3 of his reopening plan this Friday, with the weekly positivity rate at 8.6%. He also added Illinois is not using antibody testing in its overall total numbers - only positive cases.

LOCAL CASE UPDATES (4:10pm Update)

Effingham County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Six overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 11, with 10 recoveries.
  • 894 tests administered in the three county service area

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • 2 new cases - a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 60s from Williamson County.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 58, with 45 recoveries and one death in Williamson¬†¬† County, 11 cases with ten recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • 15 new cases reported - a boy and a girl in their preteens/teens, two women and four men in their 20s, two women in their 30s, one woman in her 40s, one woman and two men in their 50s, and one man in his 60s.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is 248, with 186 recoveries and ten deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall there have been 104 positive cases of COVID-19, with 87 recoveries and 14 deaths.
  • 1241 negative test results.

Marion County Health Department

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, there have been 51 positive cases of COVID-19, with 49 recoveries.
  • 1235 negative test results.

Perry County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 41 positive cases of COVID-19, with 37 recoveries.
  • 599 negative test results.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • 32 active cases, with 29 isolating at home and three hospitalized.
  • Overall, 264 positive cases of COVID-19, with 229 recoveries and three deaths.
  • 1,246 negative test results.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, three positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries in Richland County. Two cases were identified, but those patients live outside Richland County.
  • 790 negative test results.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • 6 new cases reported - a woman in her 30s from Johnson County; a man in his 20s and a man in his 30s from Pulaski County; a woman in her 30s, a woman in her 50s, and a woman in her 70s from Union County.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 211 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 80 recoveries and seven deaths.
