Daily COVID Update: (June 25)

The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Illinois grew again on Thursday, the day before the state is slated to enter Phase 4 of Governor JB Pritzker's Reopening Plan.

More than 31,000 tests were logged from June 24-25, and 894 came back positive. An additional 41 people died, as well.

The new numbers bring Illinois' overall COVID-19 cases to 139,434, and its death toll is now 6,810.

The state's positivity rate - a number comparing positive tests with the overall test count - remained at 3% for June 18-24. Illinois has processed 1.46 million tests since the pandemic arrived.

LOCAL CASES (3:00pm Update)

Effingham County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • 11 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with ten recoveries and one death.
  • 1,780 negative tests results.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 13, with 13 recoveries.
  • 1,652 tests administered in the three-county service area

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • 2 new cases reported - a man in his 30s and a woman in her 70s from Williamson County.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 104 cases with 75 recoveries and 4 deaths in Williamson County, 13 cases with 12 recoveries in Franklin County.
  • Bi-County Health reports its working with Sports Clips in Marion after recent cases were identified there. The agency says the business was abiding by all guidelines, and has been disinfected. Stylists from the Marion location are being quarantined, and stylists from the Carbondale location are filling in until the quarantine is over.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • 3 new cases reported - a pre-teen/teen girl, a woman in her 50s, and a woman in her 60s.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is 327, with 292 recoveries and 19 deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall there have been 108 positive cases of COVID-19, with 93 recoveries and 14 deaths.
  • 2,575 negative test results.

Marion County Health Department:2 new cases reported.

  • Overall, there have been 66 positive cases of COVID-19, with 55 recoveries.
  • 2,088 negative test results.

Perry County Health Department:

  • Overall, 47 positive cases of COVID-19, with 44 recoveries.
  • 1,094 negative test results.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 279 positive cases of COVID-19, with 272 recoveries and seven deaths.
  • 2,824 negative test results.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 4 positive cases of COVID-19, with 4 recoveries in Richland County. Two additional cases were identified, but those patients live outside Richland County.
  • 1,251 negative test results.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 293 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 197 recoveries and 18 deaths.
  • 4,255 negative test results in the 7 county service area (as of June 19).
