Illinois confirmed an additional 869 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, along with 36 more deaths.
The daily announcement brings the overall number of positive tests in the state to 144,882, with 6,987 deaths.
The state's positivity rate - a number comparing positive tests with the overall test count - held steady at 2.6% for June 25 - July 1. Illinois has processed 1.67 million tests since the pandemic arrived.

Effingham County Health Department:
- 1 new case reported
- 13 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with ten recoveries and one death.
- 2,237 negative tests results.
Egyptian Health Department:
- No new cases reported.
- Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 16, with 14 recoveries.
- 1,917 tests administered in the three-county service area
Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:
- 8 new cases reported - three teen girls and one teen boy, and one woman in her 30s from Franklin County; two men in their 20s and one woman in her 30s from Williamson County.
- Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 126 cases with 80 recoveries and 4 deaths in Williamson County, 26 cases with 13 recoveries in Franklin County.
Jackson County Health Department:
- 1 new case reported - a man in his 20s.
- Jackson County's total positive test count is 331, with 296 recoveries and 19 deaths.
Jefferson County Public Health Department:
- No new cases reported.
- Overall there have been 109 positive cases of COVID-19, with 94 recoveries and 14 deaths.
- 2,875 negative test results.
Marion County Health Department:2 new cases reported.

Perry County Health Department:
- Overall, 54 positive cases of COVID-19, with 44 recoveries and one death.

- Overall, 289 positive cases of COVID-19, with 273 recoveries and seven deaths.

- 1 new case reported - a boy under 12.
- Overall, 5 positive cases of COVID-19, with 4 recoveries in Richland County.
- 1,545 negative test results.
Southern Seven Health Department:
- 4 new cases reported - two teen girls, one woman in her 20s, and one woman in her 80s from Union County.
- Overall, Southern Seven reports 324 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 222 recoveries and 18 deaths.
- Southern Seven modified its death count on Thursday, removing one after it was found the patient did not die from COVID-19.
