Daily COVID Update: (July 18)

Since Friday, July 17th, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported another  1,276 cases of COVID-19, as well as 18 new deaths attributed to the disease.

These new totals bring Illinois' overall case count to 160,610 and 7,290 deaths.

Statewide, Illinois has now processed 2, 212,398 COVID-19 tests, and with a positivity rate of 2.9% from July 11 - 17.  Illinois has experienced a slight drop in COVID-19  hospitalizations in the last 24 hours to  1,360.  326 patients were  in the ICU, and 119 were on ventilators.

LOCAL CASES (6:o2pm Update)

Crawford County Health Department (Region 6) 

  • 2 new cases reported  - a 22 year old male and a 70 year old female
  • Jackson County Reported 15 new cases  - 9 women, one under 10,  7 women in their 20s and 1 in her 40s.  Males, 2 under 10 years old, one teen, 2 in their 20s and one male in his 30s.  All are in isolation.
  • So far, Jackson County has 397 cases and 19 COVID-19 related deaths.

Egyptian Health Department (Region 5) 

White, Saline and Gallatin Counties

8 new cases reported - a woman in her 50s in White county; 2 Saline county males in their teens; a Saline county male in his 20s, and 2 Saline county males in their 30s.  A Saline county woman in her 30s and a Gallatin county woman in her 50s.

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department (Region 5)

  • 9 new cases reported  -  1 teenage female in Franklin county, 1 teenage male in Williamson county, 5 men in their 20s in Williamson county and 1 man in his 40s also in Williamson county. and one woman in her 50s in Williamson county.
