The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,905 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, along with 31 additional deaths. The overall number of coronavirus cases is 316,423 since the pandemic began, and the death toll stands at 8,975.
Additionally, 6.24 million tests have been processed since the outbreak began. The rolling statewide positivity rate is 4.0% for the week ending October 9. Health officials report 1,807 people were hospitalized across Illinois with COVID-19. Of those, 406 were in the ICU, and 166 were on ventilators.

Fayette County: 2 males 70s
Jefferson County: 1 female 70s
Marion County: 1 female 80s
Richland County: 1 male 90s
Union County: 1 male 70s
