Daily COVID-19 Update: June 3

Illinois logged another 982 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, along with 97 additional deaths. 

Overall, Illinois' total positive COVID-19 tests now stand at 123,830. The death toll is 5,621.

LOCAL CASE UPDATES (3:00pm Update)

Effingham County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • 7 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.
  • 630 negative tests results.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 11, with 10 recoveries.
  • 1,024 tests administered in the three-county service area

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • 2 new cases - a woman in her 50s and a man in his 20s from Williamson County.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 72, with 55 recoveries and one death in Williamson   County, 12 cases with 12 recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • 3 new cases reported - two women in their 50s, and one man in his 50s.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is 293, with 231 recoveries and ten deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall there have been 104 positive cases of COVID-19, with 90 recoveries and 14 deaths.
  • 1439 negative test results.

Marion County Health Department

  • 1 new case reported - a woman in her 30s.
  • Overall, there have been 52 positive cases of COVID-19, with 50 recoveries.

Perry County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 42 positive cases of COVID-19, with 39 recoveries.
  • 712 negative test results.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • 1 new case reported.
  • 9 active cases, with 7 isolating at home and 2 hospitalized.
  • Overall, 273 positive cases of COVID-19, with 260 recoveries and four deaths.
  • 1,470 negative test results.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • 1 new case reported -  a woman in her 60s.
  • Overall, four positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries in Richland County. Two additional cases were identified, but those patients live outside Richland County.
  • 886 negative test results.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • 1 new death reported - a woman in her 70s from Union County
  • 1 new case reported - a woman in her 40s from Pulaski County.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 256 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 98 recoveries and 13 deaths.
