Incumbent Republican Mike Bost defeated Democrat Brendan Kelly to win his third term in Congress.
“I just received a call from Brendan Kelly, he has conceded the race.”
In front of a crowd of dozens of supporters Congressman Mike Bost declared his victory for a third term Representing the Illinois 12th district.
Bost credits his win with his ability to work in a bi-partisan manner.
“I know what its like to work across the aisle and I will continue to do that, we’ve got to move this nation forward, I believe over the last two years we’ve done that, we’ve done it well.”
His main focus for the 12th is going to be infrastructure and healthcare.
With the Democrats regaining the house Bost is optimistic that both sides will work together.
“I would hope that after this election, if we’ve got to work in a bi partisan manner that bi partisanly we come together, that leadership from either side doesn’t drag us in one direction or the other.”
