Former SIU head basketball coach and current Kansas State men's basketball associate head coach Chris Lowery has lost one of his four children.

Kansas State head coach Bruce Weber, who preceded Lowery in Carbondale, announced that Lowery's 15-year-old son, Kahari, died Tuesday morning.

Kahari suffered from cerebral palsy at a young age and suffered from many other health problems.
Memorial services are pending.

Lowery has served as K-State's associate head coach since Weber was named coach in 2012. Before that, he was the head coach of the Salukis from 2004-12, guiding the school to two Missouri Valley championships and three NCAA Tournaments, including a Sweet 16 run in 2007.
