The Carbondale Winter Market will have a new home and new hours.

The Carbondale farmer’s market will be making some changes this winter, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The winter market will be moving to the University Mall, and will operate on Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm for in person shopping. Vendors will be set up in the east wing, near the movie theater and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Manager Libby Ervin said there will be fewer vendors than previous years, to allow for social distancing.

”We’ll have 11 vendors, pretty much everyone has been in the market in the past,” she said. “We are really prioritizing produce and our meat vendors, will be our main staples of the market and then we’ll have some rotating vendors that will have to kind of switch around with the remaining spots.”

Shoppers will also be able to order online and have a contactless pickup at the market. The weekly vendor list will also be posted on the market’s website.

The winter market will run from December 5th to March 27th, with no market being held on December 26th.
