A local city commission released a survey to have public input influence a sustainability action plan. WSIU's Amelia Blakely has more.
Carbondale's Sustainability Commission seeks public input to develop an action plan focused on adapting to climate change and improving city resilience.
Committee member Jane Cogie says the public's input is vital to creating an equitable action plan.
The survey focuses on infrastructure, water, energy and transportation, food production and consumption, waste reduction and extreme weather resilience.
The survey is in the June and July issues of Carbondale Communique and on the city's website online.
Completed surveys can be dropped off at city hall or emailed to sustainability@explorecarbondale.com
The survey deadline is August 16. Cogie says a community conversation will begin in the early fall.
