The person killed by a train Monday evening in Carbondale has been identified.

Police say 57-year-old Beverly Carvell of Carbondale died when she apparently walked in front of a northbound Canadian National freight train at the crossing on Main Street. It happened around 6:00pm.
Officers say there is not any indication of foul play.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.

The incident delayed trains along the line and auto traffic along Main Street was shut down Monday evening while investigators worked the scene.
