Carbondale Voters To Decide on Potential Study of Park District Merger

Mar 18, 2019

On April 2nd when voters go to the polls and vote for Mayor and City Council, they will also see a question on the ballot asking if a study should be done to determine if the Carbondale Park District Operations should be merged with the City of Carbondale.

This is an advisory referendum only instructing officials to look closely at the details of such a merger.  On this episode of WSIU INFOCUS, we sit down with three City officials to look closer at the issue.

John "Mike" Henry, the Mayor of Carbondale.  Gary Williams, Carbondale City Manager.  Kathy Renfro, Executive Director of the Carbondale Park District.
