Carbondale Public Works Participates in Local Food Drive

Images

The Carbondale Public Works Department is joining a statewide effort to raise money for local food pantries.
City of Carbondale spokesperson Roni LeForge.

"We're going to have donations bins, collection bins, set up at Kroger and the (Neighborhood) Co-op. Then on Saturday, a public works truck will be parked at the Carbondale Farmer's Market. We're going to try to stuff that truck full of donations for the Victory Dream Center and the Good Samaritan House."

In recent weeks, both organizations said they were seeing a record number of families in need of assistance due to COVID-19.

Suggested donations include pasta, canned meats, canned fruit, cereal, canned vegetables, cleaning products and toilet paper.
