Carbondale Mayor Calls Weekend Dispute "Difficult Situation"

People

Carbondale's Mayor says a weekend incident at his home can be explained by "hurt feelings in a difficult family situation."
Mike Henry's response came the same day Carbondale Police released information about the incident, late Saturday night at the mayor's home.

CPD says officers were on foot patrol on West Hill Avenue when they heard a disturbance from a home, which they identified as Henry's.

SIU's Department of Public Safety was called in for an independent investigation of the incident. No one was arrested or ticketed, but the information was forwarded to the Jackson County State's Attorney.

Henry says family was visiting, and with warmer temperatures he'd opened some doors to his porch. He says he and his wife were arguing from across the room, but there was no violence or threat of violence.
