A Carbondale man has been sentenced for a shooting incident last year.
The Jackson County State's Attorney says 33-year-old Ricky Richardson received a sentence of 14-and-a-half years for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and eight years for Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon.
A jury convicted Richardson after a June 2019 shooting incident when Richardson approached another individual at his place of business and threatened to shoot him and a family member.
Fearing for his and others’ safety, that individual left work to check on family members. Richardson tracked down the individual to Bridge Street, then shot at him in his car. The bullet missed and struck a neighboring house.
Richardson fled from police and then fled to Tennessee, where he was arrested a month later.
