A man was sentenced to 84 years in prison Wednesday for a 2019 shooting incident in the area between Tres Hombres and ABC Liquor Mart in downtown Carbondale.
The Jackson County State's Attorney says 29-year-old Jody Pullen of Carbondale was sentenced for Attempt First-Degree Murder, multiple counts of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

A jury convicted Pullen after hearing as a passenger in a vehicle with his fiancé and one-year-old child in the back seat, Pullen got into an argument with other individuals who were parked across the alley situated between the liquor store and the Tres Hombres beer garden.

Surveillance video showed Pullen started shooting and struck two patrons of the beer garden in addition to two others in the alley. Pullen continued to fire the weapon as his vehicle backed out and fled from the scene.

Crime scene and forensic evidence also linked bullets from Pullen’s firearm to the crime scene.
