A Carbondale man is indicted for reckless homicide from a traffic accident last year.

The Jackson County State's Attorney says 56-year-old Gary Starks is accused of killing a five-year-old boy by running over the child as Starks drove his vehicle at a high rate of speed on a road adjacent to Attucks Park in Carbondale last August.
His trial is set for May after Starks pleaded not guilty.

Reckless Homicide with a Motor Vehicle is a Class 3 felony, which carries a potential sentence of two to five years in prison.
