A Carbondale man is headed to prison after violating terms of his probation.

The Jackson County State's Attorney says 27-year-old James Moody received a three and-a-half year prison sentence.
Moody pleaded guilty in November 2015 to aggravated domestic battery and was placed on probation for two and-a-half years. In May of this year, he admitted to violating the terms of his probation.

The original incident occurred in July 2015 when Moody admitted to striking his girlfriend in the head and dragging her across a business parking lot in Carbondale. He then put her in a headlock that caused the woman to lose consciousness.
