Carbondale Man Convicted in Internet Sex Case

A Carbondale man faces 11-years in federal prison for using the internet in an attempt to lure a minor into sexual activity.

US Attorney Steve Wiggington says 34-year old Harry William McMillan was sentenced Friday.  McMillan will also serve five years of supervised release. An investigation showed McMillan used the internet to persuade, induce, and coerce an individual under the age of 18 to engage in sexual activity.  The incident took place over a period of two days in September of 2010 in Williamson and Jackson Counties.

The  case is part of Project Safe Childhood which is a joint federal-state effort to combat child pornography and the sexual exploitation of children.
