Carbondale Elementary School District 95 has hired a new leader from within.
The Board of Education Thursday night unanimously approved the hiring of Janice Pavelonis as the district's new superintendent. She'll succeed Daniel Booth, who was hired last month as the new superintendent of the Carbondale High School District.
Pavelonis has been the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in District 95 for the past three years.
She'll take over as superintendent on July 1.
