Carbondale and Herrin Police Offer Reward in Robbery Investigation

The Cities of Carbondale and Herrin are offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a recent string of armed robberies in both cities.

Seven robberies occurred from July 27th through September 16th.

As a result of the joint investigation, the following incidents are being investigated as related:

07-27-2017 at 9:00 pm, robbery at Dollar General, 2160 Ramada Ln, Carbondale
08-09-2017 at 11:50 pm, robbery at Primo’s Pizza, 604 E Park St, Carbondale
08-16-2017 at 9:50 pm, robbery at Dollar General, 1121 S Park St, Herrin
08-21-2017 at 10:57 pm, robbery at Egyptian Corner, 534 E Main, Carbondale
09-05-2017 at 10:00 pm, robbery at Roll N Up, 600 E Main St, Carbondale
09-09-2017 at 12:25 am, robbery at Primo’s Pizza, 604 E Park St, Carbondale
09-16-2017 at 9:56 pm, robbery at Farm Fresh, 1301 E Park St, Herrin

The suspects, described as two black men, have worn masks during the incidents and have been armed with handguns.

One of the suspects is described as between 6'0" and 6'04" tall, weighing around 220 pounds. The other man is described as slightly shorter with an athletic or thin build.

The suspects are to be considered armed and dangerous.
