The out-migration from Illinois has been highly publicized.
Now, an internet article has some statistics to support the talk.
An article on the website, Business Insider, is entitled The 20 Cities in the Midwest that Americans are escaping in Droves.
Nine of the 20 locations are in Illinois.
Coming in at number 12 is the Carbondale-Marion area. The article says the metro area has had a net population loss of more than 41-hundred people between 2010 and 2018. That's 3.3-percent of the metro's population of about 126, 500.
Other Illinois locations include Springfield at number 19, Bloomington at 13, the Chicagoland area at 10, Kankakee at 8, Peoria at 6, Rockford at 3, Decatur at 2 and Danville at 1. The article says Danville has lost nearly seven percent of its population between 2010 and 2018.
