Kentucky authorities have identified a body pulled from the Ohio River as that of a missing Cairo woman.
Fifty-five year-old Sandra Farris went missing March 28th when she did not come back from her regular walk around St. Mary’s park in Cairo.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says Farris' body was pulled from the Ohio River. The Paducah Sun reports Ingram Barge employees spotted the body floating in the water near Owens Island Wednesday morning around 2:00 am. Authorities say family members identified the body.
The day after Farris was reported missing the Cairo Fire Department led a twenty person search team to look for Farris. The team looked along the Mississippi River levee as well as through vacant houses in Cairo. They found no signs of Farris.
