A peaceful Black Lives Matter protest demonstration has been scheduled for Saturday in Benton.
Local law enforcement officials spoke with the organizers of the event. The organizers have made their intentions very clear that they want event participants to remain peaceful and observe social distancing guidelines at all times.
Public safety officials say they'll be stationed near the event to ensure the safety of all event attendees and the public.
The demonstration is scheduled for noon Saturday at the Public Square in Benton.
