Dozens of, mostly young, sign-carrying demonstrators gathered at the Pinckneyville town square on Thursday to raise awareness of racism and police brutality.
While the majority were young, there were two older demonstrators who said they were in Carbondale in 1970 protesting the Vietnam War.
One of those, David Gross, said this country still has work to do.
