AT&T is helping incoming SIUC students make the transition to college and a career in technology.
Tuesday, SIU honored AT&T for a $50,000 contribution to the Saluki Summer Bridge Program. Ranata Greer oversees the Summer Bridge to Success program. She says the funds allowed them to create a sequence focused on the STEM subjects of Science, technology, engineering, and math. Greer says the funding provided the 2-week experience free of charge to 26-students interested in math and science.
Brian Laurore is a freshman chemical engineering major from Nashville, Tennessee. He says the summer bridge program made SIUC feel like home and helped him prepare for entering his field of study. The Saluki summer Bridge program is in its second year. It helped a total of 52 students this summer prepare for their college careers.
