Area Schools Set Up Food Distribution and Other Plans While Students Are Out

Starting Tuesday March 17th, Murphysboro CUSD 186 will be providing food through the State Board of Education Free Breakfast and Lunch Program. These meals will be sack lunches for people to grab and go. ALL school age children will be provided a meal at the following locations and times.

Pick-up Locations are:
Murphysboro Middle School - Cafeteria Entrance LUNCH 11:00am - 12:00pm
Bocce Ball Court LUNCH 11:00am-12:00pm
Longfellow Park LUNCH 11:00am-12:00pm
United Methodist Church - LUNCH 11:30 - 12:30
Murphysboro Youth and Rec Center - Lunch 12:00 - 1:00
Murphysboro Food Pantry (BREAKFAST and LUNCH) 9:00am - 11:00am
Gorham Fire Department LUNCH 11:00am
Pomona Town Hall LUNCH 11:00am

The district will also be using two white activity busses to deliver food from 11:00 - 1:00 along the following routes.
North 7th, 8th, and 9th Streets
Bridgewood, Valley Ridge
New Horizons
New Hill, Old Brick Road
Mobile Ranch
Hoffman Road
Old Public Aid area just north of Hardees
If you see the bus, you are welcome to come to the bus and pick-up a meal.

Carbondale School District #95 will offer Grab & Go Breakfast and Lunch pickup to district students from 7:30 am to 1 pm through March 20 at Thomas Elementary School and Carbondale Middle School.

The Boys and Girls Club’s main site at 250 N. Springer in Carbondale will be open from Noon to 5:30 pm through March 20. For more information, call 618-457-8877, ext. 0023.

The March 18 and 19 Parent-Teacher Conferences at Carbondale District #95 have been postponed.

Anna District 37 in cooperation with local Churches is providing meals for kids during the school shut down. Fill out the form sent home with your child or call the school office to sign up.

During the time of closure, the Cobden Jr.-Sr. High School building will be open daily between the hours of 8:00-2:00 to allow students access to the library for internet and printing and to be able to retrieve items from their lockers. Social distancing must be practiced in the library.

Students who were absent March 16th, should make arrangements to pick up important information/homework that is being sent home. Chromebooks and homework are located outside of the office.
