Chris Kennedy announced on Wednesday he will run for Illinois governor in 2018 in what's shaping up to be a crowded race for Democrats vying to take on Republican Governor Bruce Rauner.
Kennedy is a Chicago-based businessman who serves as chairman of the Kennedy family's investment firm. He's a former chairman of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees and founder of a nonprofit organization that works to eliminate food deserts in the Chicago area.
He spoke with Illinois Public Radio's Lacy Scarmana.
