The 2014 elections are barely a memory, and already candidates are lining up for next year's contests.
Carbondale City Councilwoman Jane Adams announced her candidacy for Mayor this weekend.
Adams says she wants to encourage projects to revitalize the city, including neighborhood and downtown programs.
She also says Carbondale should prepare itself to catch the next wave of innovation. Adams says that can help with budget pressures, which will likely cause leaders to seek cuts in the future.
Adams joins Mike Henry as a mayoral hopeful. The owner of Henry Printing announced his candidacy last week.
They are vying for the seat being vacated by Acting Mayor Don Monty, who announced he will not seek his own term as mayor. Joel Fritzler left the mayor's post to take a job in Arizona.
