A 2nd COVID-19 Death Reported in Jackson County

Jackson County Health Department was notified in the past 24 hours of three new confirmed cases of COVID-19, including the death of a female in her nineties.

This death is the second overall known from the disease in Jackson County.
The other newly confirmed positive cases include a man in his 70's, who is isolated and doing fair and a woman in her 80's, who is also isolated and doing fair.

All threeacquired the disease through local contact with a known or suspected case. To date, there have been 25 total laboratory confirmed positives of COVID-19 in Jackson County.

The Health Department is aware of 231 tests being conducted on Jackson County residents to date. Six individuals have recovered enough to be released from isolation.

Southern Seven Health Department is reporting four new cases of COVID-19 in Pulaski County.

One individual is a male in his 40’s. The other three are being isolated at the Pulaski County Detention Center in Ullin.

The number of individuals confirmed, to date, within the Southern Seven Counties now stands at six with two previously reported cases in Massac County.
