The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol meets on March 28, 2022.

The January 6th House Select Committee resumed their public hearing Tuesday, focusing on state level officials who were pressured to overturn the 2020 election results.

The hearing concentrated on President Trump’s to overturn the election results in Arizona and Georgia.

Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers testified the President’s lawyer John Eastman pressed him to decertify the electors and was told when he refused to “just do it and let the courts figure it out.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger testified the President asked him to find the votes he needs to win and told the former President there were no votes to find.

Criminology and Criminal Justice Professor Chris Mullins says the committee is telling the story to the American people and also building a case for prosecution.

“It's really telling the story of how the groups are put together, how they got there. We're looking at leadership. We are talking about who was talking. To whom at what time.

Uh, they've done a fairly decent job trying to link things back to the former president. We don't know if that'll stick in his mind or not.”

The next hearing is scheduled for June 23 at 2pm.
