Inside The Blanket Fort: Episode 77 - 3/3/22

Journey back Inside The Blanket Fort as we introduce an important new book from SIU Press. Forgetting and the Forgotten: A Thousand Years of Contested Histories in the Heartland details the nature of how a community, in this case Jackson County Illinois, forged its story against outsiders. Author Michael C. Batinski, an emeritus professor of history at SIU, explores the habits of forgetting that enable communities like Jackson County to create an identity based on silencing competing narratives.

Blanket Fort Radio Theater is a storytelling initiative of SIU Press in collaboration with the SIU Creative Writing Program and WSIU Radio.
