Inside The Blanket Fort: Episode 56 - 8/12/21

Journey back Inside The Blanket Fort this week as we continue our conversation with SIU Press Acquisitions Editor Jen Egan. Egan tells us about the upcoming regional history book, "Forgetting and the Forgotten: A Thousand Years of Contested Histories in the Heartland by SIU History professor emeritus Michael Batinski.

Also, catch the latest episode in Blanket Fort Radio Theater's podcast production of "The Undaunted Women of Nanking." This week, Nanking has fallen and Japanese soldiers invade the city, looting and burning as they go. At Ginling College in the safety zone, Tsen Shui-fang receives yet more refugees who have been forced out of their homes, while Minnie Vautrin attempts to guard the gates of Ginling against growing numbers of Japanese soldiers searching for young women to abduct.

Blanket Fort Radio Theater is a storytelling initiative of SIU Press in collaboration with the SIU Creative Writing Program and WSIU Radio.
