This book was originally published in 2009 but finally took its rightful place in the series on September 19th when we released a new edition retrofitted in the style of the Concise Lincoln Library series.

This new book documents the path to political power for Latinos in the Midwest’s largest city, where they have been fighting for representation for more than a century. Beginning with the Latino community’s first attempt to acquire a political voice in Chicago politics in 1911 and continuing through Latino officeholders of the early twenty-first century.While this book won’t be out until November, we preview it now in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage month, which begins Thursday, September 15th and lasts through October 15th.
