A trial date is set in the U-S Department of Labor's suit against a Carbondale business.
The Southern Illinoisan reports in court filings late last month, a bench trial was set for March of next year for the suit against Longbranch Cafe and its management.
Longbranch and its manager, Elaine Ramseyer Greenberg, are accused of not paying employees the proper wage - and in some cases below minimum wage due to tip-sharing. The restaurant, which is run by the Dayemi Organization, is also accused of forcing employees to work more than 40 hours per week without overtime pay.
In the updated court documents, Ramseyer denies some of the claims, and acknowledges others in part.
The next court date in the case is March 9 of 2022.
