After a long wait Jackson County Ambulance Service adds two new ambulances to its fleet.
The Jackson County Ambulance Service recently put two brand new ambulances in service.
They’ve been waiting more than year to receive them because of supply chain issues from the pandemic.
Director Kenton Schafer says these ambulances will replace two of their older vehicles that were becoming too costly to maintain.
“Both of those ambulances that we replaced had over 300,000 miles on them. And they, you know, that's equivalent to essentially 600,000 miles on anything else because of the way they're driven. You know, different people drive them every day, sometimes multiple times a day.”
The new ambulances also come with four-wheel drive to better respond to rural areas during winter weather.
