Moderna booster clinic

The Jackson County Health Department is holding a Moderna booster clinic to keep up with demand.

On November 19th and 20th, the Carbondale Civic Center will be set up for people wanting the Moderna booster shot.

The booster is for people 18 and older who had their second dose of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months ago or the Johnson and Johnson vaccine more than 2 months ago.

Jackson County Health Department Administrator Bart Hagston says the majority of booster shot appointments were people seeking Moderna and this clinic will make the shot more accessible.

“We'd like to get our schedule opened up a little more here at the health department so we can be more available to vaccinate other people, including kids in the five- to eleven-year-old age range, so we're having a special Moderna booster clinic to help get those people taken care of in a quicker fashion.”

The clinic is by appointment only and you can register for your booster on their website J-C-H-D-Online dot org or call 618-684-3143 and bring your vaccination card.
