Illinois saw an increase of 2,100 new COVID-19 cases over the last week - with the positivity rate up three-tenths of a percent.
Still, statewide hospitalizations are nearly steady at 424, and the statewide vaccination rate is now up to almost 49%.
In southern Illinois, the regional positivity rates bounced up in the metro East and southern Illinois. Region four, which includes the metro East, is up to 4.6%, up from 2.4% last week. Region five climbed to 2.5% from 1.3% last week.
Positivity rates in individual counties remain relatively low, though some are beginning to climb again. Health leaders say they're seeing the Delta variant across Illinois, and warning people who are unvaccinated that they remain vulnerable to the disease.
Southern Illinois reported more than 200-cases in the past week - up from 90 new cases last week. Four more deaths were reported, as well.
